Spring is Beginning to Bloom All Around!

     Greetings from Uphill Farm---our little corner of rolling southern USA! Today was amazingly beautiful!...The birds were tweeting, the breeze was blowing, the fruit trees were budding and blooming, the honeybees were buzzing, the horses were grazing (tails and manes waving gently), the clouds were sailing overhead, the goat kids were frolicking....Well, you get the idea ; )

     As this is a blog about beauty of all kinds, I wanted to share some tips that I have regarding how we ladies can pamper ourselves a bit in the area of skincare and fragrance. One idea that occurred to me is to NOT wash or wipe the residue of anti-aging moisturizer (I'm currently using AVON's ANEW Ultimate line)

off of your hands when you finish that step of your routine, but rather, add a drop of water to your palm, rub hands together gently to mix, and then apply to the backs of both hands! If you're like me, your hands are very hard working, and could use some beautification...especially as I would like to get solar nails for my birthday, and more attention will be drawn to my hands. I think I will begin to do this daily as well as using the same skincare steps to my neck and upper chest as I do my face--a lesson that I learned years ago! 

     The second tip that I wanted to share is to spritz some of your fave fragrance (mine is currently Imari Seduction by AVON-''A captivating scent of luscious plum and purple orchid and dark rose with tantalizing hints of warm vanilla. ")

Good morning blogger world !

 It is another beautiful day in the rolling countryside of Southeast USA :-)

We had a freeze last night, so there was a lovely covering of frost on everything this morning for my 8 a.m. walk with my dear daughter in law.

Now I'm sitting in the sunny crispness on my front porch swing with my cup of fresh, hot Colombian, awaiting the Farrier...

Lady, (a registered Tennessee Walker), and Splashmanian Devil, (a registered American Paint Horse), are both in their senior years enjoying a lot of free time-but they are still pleasant and ridable. Lady sports an especially thick coat of winter hair! I like to chase them around the pasture for our exercise time together some days. I don't have a round pen, so they like to try and hide in the corners and behind the trees, but I always "find" them, lol " )  They've gotten used to our little game, and keep looking at me to give them the signal to come in to the center with me for a horse treat and a good scratch! 

My New Skincare Update:

This is the line that I am trying out now...

So far, I'm really liking it. I DO see and feel a difference in my skin! I will say though, that it only takes a tiny bit of the Day Cream to do the job. It is a richer feeling cream than the Night Cream, (Counter to what you would expect), but I think it is because it contains SPF. I have found that gently "patting" it on using your fingertips all around your face and neck works well.

Well folks, I'd better go get the meat out of the freezer for dinner. I could sit here and chat with you for hours; there are SO many things we could talk about and share! SO many ways to add touches of beauty to our little world of influence. Don't forget to take time out for beauty today-observe it in your surroundings-surely there's something! If not,.....create some!! One of my absolute favorite sayings of late is:

"BE the change you want to see in the world..."

I've Struck "Paydirt"!

 
      No, really. Not too long ago, I realized that it was PAST time for me to stop scrubbing my face with soap and water and maybe put a tiny bit of effort into taking care of  MY ONLY FACE (hair, nails, overall condition ; )! I'm not the totally vain type, but a little voice deep down inside me somewhere whispered, "Maybe it's OK for you to start pampering yourself a wee bit...I mean, after all, you have raised and homeschooled 5 children and managed a household of 7 for the past nearly 30 years!"... (No, sorry to disappoint. That's NOT me in the above photo, lol!)

     I intend to begin to form several better habits for a HEALTHIER, more FIT, more PROACTIVE me. I've always tried TO BEAUTIFY THE SPACES AROUND ME....now it's time to turn my efforts on my own person---inside and out!

     Aging is inevitable.

AGING GRACEFULLY is not!

 At least, I suspect, not for me " O

     Some INTENTIONAL EFFORT is going to have to be employed by me to ENCOURAGE the "gracefully" part!

     Hence the photo above. I have re-discovered an old friend,....AVON! Yes, we go way back. At least 3 generations, believe it or not.  I was surrounded by AVON products growing up...A recent scan of vintage AVON products posted on Pinterest brought back so many memories " )

     I can't even recall how I came across AVON recently, but I was inspired to locate a nearby REPRESENTATIVE and request a BROCHURE and some SAMPLES. She was very accommodating, and met me outside of my daughter's dance studio the following week, opened her trunk in the parking lot, and proceeded to hand me a bag full of samples based on our previous phone conversation. She said that she had thought for days about just exactly which samples to include, letting me know that she was serious about trying to anticipate and meet my specific needs/wants! I thought to myself, "If I were to ever become a representative, THAT'S the way that I would want to do business with my clientele!"

     Anywho, back to the "paydirt" part...I had REALLY let my skincare, cosmetic, and jewelry resources dwindle to just about nothing over the years, but had recently maneuvered  a niche in my budget by doing the majority of my grocery shopping at Aldie ; ) So............I felt like I could venture to invest in my hard-working, frugal self a little, lol! I ended up making several orders over several paychecks to build up my arsenal, and.....I discovered the ANEW ULTIMATE skin care line! Talk about PAMPERING YOURSELF! It makes you feel like a queen! From the gold packaging and sparkling eye elixir, to the luscious creaminess and scent of the cleanser, using them is a treat that I find myself LOOKING FORWARD to each morning and evening. I've been using the products for a couple of weeks now, and actually do see an improvement in my skin plumpness and clarity.
